The World Economic Forum has released data showing which countries have the highest and lowest life expectancies in the world.
Those in the First 10 – out of 137 countries worldwide – are all in Africa.
Algeria tops the list of countries with the highest life expectancy in Africa with an average life expectancy of 75.0, followed by Tunisia (75 years) and Mauritius (74.4).
Africa’s Giant, ‘Nigeria’ Despite being Africa’s largest economy, failed to make the list of top 10 countries with the highest life expectancy in Africa and this is mainly due to the fact that the country has health records that compare unfavourably with war-torn countries in Africa. Nigeria was placed further down the ranks in the world, ranked 133 in the world and fifth in Africa with an average expectancy of 53 years.
