Good news for those who have been looking for an excuse to not stop drinking… A newly published study shows that people who drink alcoholic drinks regularly are less likely to die prematurely than people who steer clear from drinking alcohol.

The researchwhich was published in the journal Alcoholism: Clinical and Experimental Research and led by Charles Holahan, focused on individuals between the ages of 55 and 65, and studied it over a period of 20 years – including complex variables ranging from the situation Socio-economic level to the level of physical activity of the subjects.

According to the researchers, One possible explanation is that alcohol makes one social, and social activity is essential to maintain physical and mental health. It has already been proven that non-drinkers show more signs of depression than those who frequent bars.
