Last year, South Africa was the world’s 49th most valuable national brand, while Nigeria was the 50th. This year, Nigeria leaps 10 places and comes six places before South Africa, securing the 40th place on the ranking. Africa’s former most valuable national brand now occupies the 47th place on the report.
Egypt, up from the 54th position in last year, now sits in 49th position, making it the third most valuable nation brand in Africa. As fourth in line Algeria sits at 56th, thought it occupied the 58th position in the previous report. Morocco and Kenya were ranked at 64th and 66th respectively.
According to the report Developing economies have seen 30 times faster nation brand value growth over the past year than developed ones.
The report also revealed that 11 out of the 20 fastest growing nation brands of 2019 come from the Middle East and Africa, with Ghana (up 67%), Uganda (up 56%), and Egypt (up 50%) in the top 5.

Tanzania rose 4 places to be the 83rd most valuable country in the world and the 10th in Africa.
Angola dropped 10 places to be ranked 74th in the world and 9th most valuable brand in Africa.
The 8th position in Africa goes to Algeria making it the 72 country in the world with the most valuable brand. The country climbed 5 places.
This year, Ghana climbed 12 places to be ranked 71st in the world and 7th Most Valuable Brand In Africa.
Kenya was ranked 66th in the world and 6th in Africa. Kenya is the most valuable brand in East Africa.
Morocco was ranked 64 in the world and 5 in Africa.
The North African country was recently listed as the most preferred destination for tourists in North Africa.
The fourth position in Africa goes to Algeria making it the 58th country in the world with the most valuable brand
Two places after South Africa, Egypt ranked 3 place in Africa and 49 in the world with the most valuable brand.

The giant of Africa, Nigeria is the most valuable African nation brand in the world ranking 40. Despite the many unpleasant stories, especially of corruption in the country, its brands still stand out on the continent.
