Ethiopian Airlines has been named Africa’s leading airline at the recent edition of the World Travel Awards.

Ethiopian Airlines Named Best Airline In Africa, 2019

Ethiopian Airlines, formerly Ethiopian Air Lines (EAL) is Ethiopia’s flag carrier and is wholly owned by the country’s government, wins the top spot for the second year.

The recognition was announced at the 26th World Travel Awards ceremony was held in Mauritius over the weekend – Saturday June 1, 2019.

Nominees in the said category included:

Kenya Airways
Royal Air Maroc
RwandAir
South African Airways
Tunisair

The awards were established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all key sectors of the travel, tourism and hospitality industries.
