For 2020, the Nigerian passport has been placed in the 95th position on the global passport power ranking list.
This is due to the fact that it only guarantees visa-free access into only 46 countries.
Out of those 46 countries, 28 are in Africa
In the below African countries where visa-free access is granted to holders of the Nigerian passport, such access is not necessarily a right, and admission is at the discretion of border enforcement officers. Visitors engaging in activities other than tourism, including unpaid work, may require a visa or work permit.
Currently these are the 28 African Countries Nigerian passport holders can visit without a Visa:
1. Benin 2. Burkina Faso 3. Cameroon 4. Cape Verde Islands 5. Chad 6. Comoros Islands (visa on arrival) 7. Cote d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast) 8. Ethiopia (visa on arrival) 9. Gambia 10. Ghana 11. Guinea 12. Guinea-Bissau 13. Kenya (visa on arrival) 14. Liberia 15. Madagascar (visa on arrival) 16. Mali 17. Mauritania (visa on arrival) 18. Mauritius (visa on arrival) 19. Mozambique (visa on arrival) 20. Namibia (visa on arrival) 21. Niger 22. Rwanda (visa on arrival) 23. Senegal 24. Seychelles (visa on arrival) 25. Sierra Leone 26. Somalia (visa on arrival) 27. Togo 28. Uganda (visa on arrival)
**Visa on arrival (VOA) are granted at a port of entry. This is distinct from visa-free entry, where no visa is required, as the visitor must still obtain the visa on arrival before proceeding to immigration control.
