Cataplexy is a medical condition in which strong emotions like laughter, cry, terror, surprise etc, causes a person to collapse into a sleep like state.
Typically, a person with cataplexy can doze off after hearing a funny joke.
The good thing about the attack is that it last only for a very short period of time though and resolve without the need for medical intervention.

2. Sleep Bruxism (Teeth Grinding)
People with sleep brusixm are known to clench or grind their teeth together when sleeping.
What causes it is not known for sure, but many say that it is caused by stress, tension, anxiety, suppressed anger, or something as simple as a misalignment of the teeth.
In some cases, people with this sleep disorder end up fracturing, or wearing out their teeth.

Narcolepsy is a neurological disorder caused by the brain’s inability to regulate sleep-wake cycles normally.
People with narcolepsy experience uncontrollable episodes of falling asleep during an activity. The attacks come at irregular intervals.

Sleeping beauty is a rare and complex neurological disorder characterized by recurring periods of excessive amounts of sleep.
A sufferer of this disorder can sleep for weeks.
sometimes waking only to eat or go to the bathroom.
5. REM-Sleep Behavior Disorder (RBD)
People with RBD are said to act out their dreams while still sleeping.
A lot of the time these dreams are violent filled with swearing, shouting, kicking etc. If not treated properly, the disorder can get worse and more violent.
6. Exploding Head Syndrome
Exploding head syndrome is severe sleep disorder that causes the sufferer to hear a very loud noise when going to, or awakening from sleep.
Although the whole process is painless, the noise attacks can cause a great deal of fear, confusion and panic in sufferers.
According to Most researchers, it often occurs in people who are dealing with high levels of stress and physical or mental fatigue.
7. Sleep paralysis
Sleep paralysis is a phenomenon in which a person either during falling asleep or awakening, temporarily experiences an inability to move any part of his body. It occurs when a person passes between the stages of wakefulness and sleep.
During these change in transitions, the sufferer may be unable to move or speak for seceral minutes, but usually goes away on its own.
